CDU offers free VET short courses to Territorians
Territorians now have access to a range of free short courses to help them emerge from the COVID-19 outbreak with new skills, thanks to the partnership between Charles Darwin University and the Northern Territory Government.
The suite of CDU Vocational Education and Training (VET) short courses in the areas of hospitality, health, education, environmental studies, trades, business, finance and disaster management aim to help people boost their skills to prepare for the changing job market.
The courses are available free for eligible Territorians and offer opportunities to build on existing qualifications, knowledge and experience; or begin study towards a career change.
Pro Vice-Chancellor VET Ashar Ehsan said the courses would cover skills in industries that were critical to the economic development of the Northern Territory.
“Each course is designed to help people acquire and develop new skills in a short time and can help them in the future job market,” Mr Ehsan said.
“CDU is committed to supporting local industry and helping Territorians emerge stronger at this challenging time.”
In the coming weeks a range of fee-free higher education short courses in areas of health, design, engineering, teaching, IT, languages, environmental sciences and more, will be rolled out in response to the Australian Government’s Higher Education Relief Package.
Places for the free VET short courses are limited. People need to register and enrol by June 30.
